The RCG Praise Dance Ministry was formed in December, 1999 under the leadership of Peggy Mills who is also the Ministry Leader of the RCG Drama Department. At that time, the ministry consisted of eleven teens ranging in ages from 15 to 18. The Dance Team performed for special services and programs through 2000 and 2001. And by the Spring of 2001, a Youth Dance Team was also formed ranging in ages from 9 to 11 years of age.
Today, the Dance Ministry is a combined group of nine (9) young ladies ranging in ages from 12 to 24 years of age. They are also members of the New Creation Choir, Drama Department, Youth/Teen Ministry and some also serve on the Junior and Young Adult Usher Boards.
They perform regularly every fourth Sunday, at the Righteous Church of God, which is Youth Sunday during the morning worship. God has blessed this ministry over the years and while most of them have never had any professional training or dance instruction, these young ladies continue to grow and mature in their gift of dance. Each new challenge of creating a new routine is met with a desire to bring a message to God’s people that will encourage, lift burdens and exalt praise in worship among the people of God.
Zechariah 2:10 reads “Sing and rejoice, O daughter of Zion: for lo, I come and I will dwell in the midst of thee, saith the Lord”. We have come this far by faith, trusting solely in Him. And in doing so, our praises in dance continue to be uplifting, encouraging and inspirational. We give God the Glory for all He has done!
We the RCG Dance Ministry welcome every opportunity to express and share our praise to God; and in doing so have been invited on many occasions to participate in youth group activities, anniversary programs and youth services at various churches in the local area.
Please continue to pray for us that God will continue to bless this Ministry of dedicated young women – whose goal is to minister to others by spreading God’s Word through dance and song.
Yours in Christ,
